Convert SRT and WebVTT subtitles
Paste captions or choose a file. Edit the words, move all timestamps together and download SRT, VTT or plain text.
Paste subtitles below or open an SRT or WebVTT file. Edit the captions before converting.
SRT, VTT or TXT · Up to 1 MB · Files stay in this tab.
Timing shift (optional)
Supported subtitles
Supports plain, multiline cues. Remove styles, regions, comments, inline markup and cue settings before conversion. SRT exports renumber the cues.
How it works
A timing offset moves the start and end of every cue by the same amount. A positive offset displays the captions later and a negative offset displays them earlier.
Assumptions and limits
Use text-based subtitles. Files that depend on advanced WebVTT styling and positioning need a subtitle editor that supports those features.
Guide and examplesConvert SRT → VTT, VTT → SRT or shift all timestamps
- Paste SRT or WebVTT captions, or open a file and choose its encoding. Use plain text cues in ascending start-time order, separated by blank lines.
- Choose VTT for SRT → VTT, SRT for VTT → SRT, or TXT to extract the words without timestamps. Add a positive shift for later captions or a negative shift for earlier ones.
- Convert, review the output and any overlap count, then copy or download it. A shift that would place a cue before zero is rejected.
