How it works

An 11-digit code contains a century indicator, date, serial number and check digit. We check indicators 1–6 defined in §4 of the current regulation and the Gregorian calendar date. The checksum uses the two-stage modulo-11 algorithm referenced by EVS 585.

Assumptions and limits

A valid result confirms structure only. It does not establish identity, code issuance or a Population Register record. Input stays in an isolated browser view and clears when you leave the page or hide the tab.
