This tool works in your browser. Names and expenses are not uploaded or saved; leaving this page clears them.
An example group is ready. Replace the names and costs, or clear the expenses to start fresh.
Who is sharing?
3/20
To remove someone, first reassign any costs they paid and set their shares to zero (or remove those expenses). New people start excluded from existing expenses.
Use one currency for the whole group. Changing it relabels amounts; it does not convert them. All supported currencies use two decimal places.
What did everyone pay?
1/100
Up to 9,999,999.99 per expense. Use a decimal point or comma, without thousands separators.
Select the people sharing this expense. They split it equally, to the cent.
Changing method keeps the selected people and resets weights. Exact amounts start from the current calculated shares.
Settle the shared costs
Add your expenses, then calculate who owes whom. Different expenses can have different payers and participants.
All calculations use exact cents. Proportional shares use the largest remainders; tied extra cents follow the displayed people order.
Transfers are suggestions and do not send money. They may go directly between people who did not share an individual expense. This gives a valid settlement, not a guaranteed minimum number of transfers. Refunds, exchange rates and cash-rounding rules are not included.
How it works
Each payer is credited for the amount paid, and each participant's share is deducted. Final balances become a list of repayments. Integer cents avoid floating-point rounding; leftover cents go to the largest fractional shares in a stable order.
Assumptions and limits
Use one currency with two decimal places for all expenses; exchange rates are not calculated. New people are not automatically added to earlier expenses. Your entries stay on the open page and are not saved after closing it.
