Your meta description is a suggestion, not a fixed advertisement Google must display. Google can select a passage from the page that better matches the query. The same URL can therefore receive different snippets for different searches. 1
Confirm which page is showing
Compare the result’s address with the URL you intended. If another URL is shown or Google selected a different canonical, investigate that separately. Editing a description field does not resolve conflicting URL signals. 2
Next, inspect the meta description in the public page’s HTML. A value saved in an SEO plugin is not proof that the current response contains it, especially after a theme or caching change.
Improve the answer, not just the keywords
Write a description that makes the page’s purpose specific. Make the opening paragraph equally clear, because the page’s own text can become the snippet. Avoid promises the article does not fulfill. 1
For example, a contact-form guide should identify the sending problem it helps diagnose. “Professional solutions and outstanding quality” gives a searcher little reason to choose it.
A revision may not appear immediately, and Google may still select another passage later. A rewritten snippet alone is not evidence of a penalty or a broken SEO setup.
